Premium Hardwood Timber Desktops

If you want to make a bold statement, breaking away from received ideas as to how an office should look, then Pheasantwood is the wood for you. It resembles the tail-feathers of pheasants, ranging from a medium to dark brown, to nearly black, with lighter brown contrasting stripes which are enhanced once varnished. Making it beautiful and desirable.

Walnut is a classic and is used in executive office or formal furniture. So if that’s the impression you’re going for, look no further than walnut’s smooth, high gloss, warm brown, luxurious finish. Usually found in traditional, darker interiors, it also provides the perfect contrast to a contemporary office set-up. In contrast to walnut, 

White Oak offers a simple, almost white finish with a tight grain which fits perfectly in today’s minimal workspace. Maybe you don’t want your hardwood desk to be a centerpiece, then choose White Oak and allow its beautiful natural tones to blend perfectly; the epitome of understatement.

Unsurprisingly, Red Oak has an attractive distinct red tinge. And because the open pores in red oak absorb stain, the grain patterns become very evident when a dark stain is used as a finish. Steel Reinforcements: Our Desky wooden desks have vertically inserted bars of reinforced steel beneath the tabletop, further strengthening our desks' already best-in-class strength, stability and thickness. This significant upgrade can also help to reduce wobbles and perhaps eliminate the possibility of warping. The quantity of reinforcements included on each tabletop varies by size, with more being added to longer table tops

Precision Slots: Desky is proactively avoiding even the tiniest risk of warpage with the help of precision cut slots, and our leading 25mm desktop thickness. The slots are precisely cut gaps using CNC technology that are embedded to the underside of table surfaces. Should I choose the DESKY Dual over the DESKY Single Sit Stand desk?

In short, the DESKY Dual Sit Stand desks offers a greater weight capacity and height range and better stability at raised heights with dual motors and a 3-stage lifting system. This is ideal for heavier computer setups and those wanting the best sit to stand height range. 

The DESKY Single Sit Stand desk frame is powered by a single electric motor that has an 80kg capacity and height range of 73-123cm. The DESKY Dual Sit Stand desk frame is our premium desk frame powered by a dual motor system with 140kg capacity and best in class height range of 60-125cm.  

Are there any colour options for this frame?

  Yes, we offer this frame in 3 colours: white, matte black and grey. 

Can I get this desktop with an Ergo Edge?

Unfortunately Ergo Edges are not available for our range of Hardwood desktops but we do have specific desktops available with Ergo Edges in a number of colours and finishes.

Is this a Solid Wood desktop or a veneer?

Our Hardwood desktops are made from 100% solid wood and are built to last. The desktop is thicker than most desktops at 25mm and there are metal support braces within the desktop itself to help prevent sagging under load and at longer lengths. 

How durable is Solid Wood?

Solid wood desktops are very durable and will even harden over time. However, being a real wood they are still susceptible to scratches and dents but this is not always a bad thing as it can add to the character of the desktop over time! As part of the ageing process real wood will also get slightly lighter or darker with age.

Is the desktop surface smooth?

Yes, our Hardwood desktops have a smooth, flat surface finish and are coated with a durable polyurethane finish. 

What is the 'Live' edge on the Pheasantwood desktop? Are all the edges the same?

All of our Pheasantwood desktops have a unique front and back 'Live' edge. This means that no two desktops are the same and each edge will have the characteristic undulations of the natural shape of the timber slab it was cut from.

Are there pre-drilled holes in the desktop to help with assembly?

Yes, our Hardwood desktops come with pre-drilled holes for easy assembly of the desktop to your desk frame. You do not need a power drill or tools, just a Phillips head screwdriver and the included hex keys.    

Can I use my own desktop?

Yes, we offer the same desk frames that we use for all of our height adjustable sit stand desks as frames only so you can use an existing desktop. This is a great option for existing office spaces that have matching cabinetry and furniture. You can view our Sit Stand Desk Frames here. 

How long does it take to assemble?

Assembly will take as little as 30 minutes and each Hardwood desktop we supply comes with pre-drilled holes to make assembly as quick as possible without needing any power tools.  You can do this by yourself but we do recommend having two people to turn the desk over when finished assembly.

Does the desk have to be plugged in all the time?

We recommend leaving your desk plugged in continuously – the desk has a low draw power supply to help minimise power consumption.
